Beth takes to stage at Albert Hall.
Rugby Times May 23 2006
Teenager Beth Tysall gave a stunning performance in front of thousands at the Royal Albert Hall.
The 19 year old opened the show ono Saturday may 20, to celebrate 100 years of the Crusaders Christian group.
She said: "The whole experience was amazing and to open the show was thrilling. With a crowd of 4,000 watching, I just held my breath, walked out on stage and started to sing."
Beth has been a member of the Crusaders group since the age of eight, when she went to meetings every Friday night.
She said: "This is definitely the biggest thing I have ever done. I don't really know how tot op this."
Beth opened the show with the hymn "How Great Thou Art" after being chosen to make an impact.
She said: "I think it was felt that having me singing on stage with no backing music would make the larger impact for kicking off the show."
Trina Howarth, from Bilton, was in the audience. She said: "It was a really strong start. There was that added element of being somewhere as special as the Albert Hall and Rugby was a key feature. She got a fantastic reception."
Beth has released a CD called "Like My Shadow," which is on sale at Rugby's Christian bookshop and on her website www.bethtysall.co.uk.
Beth Tysall: Singer Songwriter With An Evangelist's Heart
Wednesday 28th June 2006 Crossrhythms Radio
The Rugby-based songstress recently released her debut album 'Like My Shadow'. Elizabeth Cook reports.
Anyone who caught Beth Tysall's stirring rendition of "Amazing Grace" at the Crusaders' Royal Albert Hall celebration in May will know that a bright new singing talent has emerged onto the British scene. 19 year old Beth recently released her debut album, 'Like My Shadow'. Recorded at Eastbourne's famed ICC studios, it shows the Rugby-based singer/songwriter to be a powerful pop rock talent. It also shows that the talented teenager's musical roots go back to childhood, as she told Mike Rimmer during her recent appearance on Cross Rhythms' Rimmerama programme. "I wrote the title track when I was 12! So it's just been a gradual process bringing everything together. I've taken aspects of my life and put all that sort of thing in, but mainly it's been Jesus' influence, he helped me through."

Matt Summerfield, Executive Director of Crusaders, speaking at the organisation's National Thanksgiving Service.
(Crusaders)Nearly 1000 people have gathered in St Albans Abbey for the Crusaders National Thanksgiving Service, 9 September.
In the closing stages of their Centenary year, Crusaders held the praise event to acknowledge and reflect on the past 100 years and to celebrate the future.
The youth and children's missionary movement invited international evangelist, Luis Palau to be the keynote speaker at the event. Palau encouraged the guests to grasp hold of the future and continue to support the movement as it moved into its second century.
Crusaders' Executive Director, Matt Summerfield, interviewed several of his predecessors, including a contribution from the current Executive Director of 'The Crusaders Union in Australia', Gary Hill, who had flown in for the occasion.
Singer-songwriter Beth Tysall, herself a former Crusader, sang a hymn written for the service by 94.-year-old Vice President, Dr Randle Manwaring, while the author himself looked on from the congregation.
Crusaders will also be hosting 'An Evening with Sir Cliff Richard', as the last part of their Centenary celebrations, on Monday 2nd October in London's Emmanuel Centre. The superstar, who is Crusaders' Patron, will share stories of his life and faith, interviewed by Crusaders' President, Steve Chalke.
The main centenary celebration took place in May, where some 4000 people have gathered at the Royal Albert Hall to celebrate Crusaders' 100th birthday.
The sold-out celebration was titled 'No Turning Back: The Main Event' and featured music from some of the UK's top Christian bands and performers including Delirious?, yFriday, thebandwithnoname, Blush, The Psalm Drummers, Rob Lacey (Street Bible Theatre Company), Steve Legg, Tommy Baker, Tim Vine and John Archer.
Beth Tysall - Like My Shadow Review

19 year old Rugby born singer/songwriter Beth Tysall worked for a year as a nanny to fund her album. She has now decided to embark on a full time musical career. After listening to this, her debut album, I think it's a very wise move. Beth describes her album as Christian music with a "rock edge", however it has more to offer with both melodic and soulful ballads. The track "Burn" is very reminiscent of the band Evanescence while elsewhere her powerful vocal style is reflective Heart's Nancy Wilson. "Tribute" is another beautiful track, with thought provoking lyrics. Beth sings of the life after death "You look down and see, those who love you/Who now grieve with all their hearts/And you wish that they could feel the peace that you now have." A very well crafted first album with a mix of rock, pop and balladry. 'Like My Shadow' showcases Beth's own compositions and it's only in the covers - "How Great Thou Art" and Gershwin's "Summertime" - that the rather hackneyed choice lets her down. But overall, this is a hugely impressive debut.
A celebration of two young stars.
Rugby Times December 5 2006
Some of Rugby's best live venues may have disappeared in recent years but that hasn't stopped the flourishing of some great new talent.
And two of the brightest stars joined forces for a gig at Hillmorton Ex-servicesmen's Club on Friday. Leanna Kerry and Beth Tysall have already created enough of a stir to get a good crowd out for what could yet be one of those gigs that, in years to come, you'll be pleased to say you were there.
Leanna took to the Clubs intimate stage first with a band featuring drums, keyboard and second vocalist, while she took lead vocals and played guitar.
Beth and her band were then quickly on stage and straight away you could see the step up in experience with a very slick show.
I've had Beth's Like My Shadow CD for a few months so knew what to expect, a lot of the tracks worked better live with a fluctuating band with a great drummer and various guitarists.
Beth's a Christian musician and I don't subscribe to the view that all Christian music has merit. The striking thing about the CD and the performance is that most of it is very good, with a clear indication it can only get better.
As Beth expands her material and writes more tracks suiting her style, you know she's going to be a very big name for the future.
This was a night for celebration of two young talents with the encouragement and chance to break into the business.
Beth to rock Christian style.

Vote For Our Star Beth.
Rugby Times February 20 2007
Singing sensation Beth Tysall needs your votes for the chance to perform at a top music festival.
The Rugby 19 year old could be belting out her songs in front of 12,000 people at Alton Towers if she can drum up enough support on the internet.
The Ultimate Event Festival in May is a chance for unsigned Christian acts to showcase their talents in front of music industry movers and shakers.
Established bands such as Delirious and Toby Mac are guaranteed a place but up-and-coming artists like Beth must win their chance to perform through an internet poll.
The six performers with the most votes will play in a competition showcase in Gateshead in April. The winner of that will claim the honour of appearing at the Alton Towers event, plus a record contract with guaranteed distribution.
Beth had promised herself she would never enter another singing competition but told the Rugby Times the festival was too good an opportunity to miss.
She said: "It will be a fantastic experience. There are some enormous bands playing. This competition is a really big music event for Christians."
Beth only found out about the festival three weeks ago but already has 150 votes to her name.
She said: "I'm pummelling everyone to vote for me. What I realised through doing as many promotions as I have is that the internet is by far the best instrument. I'm spending hours and hours on Myspace and have got a really good response."
Beth has been in the music business since she was 14 and highlights include performing at The Royal Albert Hall.
She owns her own music company and released her first album "Like My Shadow," in April last year.

All the latest from GTV
God TV magazine March 2007
In April, GTV is partnering with Broeknrule Records and The Ultimate Event in order to bring you the GTV Ultimate Showcase Special on Friday 13th April from Quad Studios in Leicester, England. The event will also be aired LIVE exclusively on GOD TV at 21:00 (GMT).
Over the past few months a number of unsigned bands have been given the opportunity to enter a 'Battle of the Bands' style competition by presenting their music on the Musicfinity website for listeners to vote on. Some of the singers and bands have already received some exposure on GOD TV, such as Beth Tysall on the Crusaders' 'No Turning back' event and of course, our very own GTV. The six finalists have now been chosen, by you, the viewing public and they are about to enter the next stage of voting.
On the 16 March GTV viewers had the privilege of seeing 'Arsenal of Freedom' go head to head with 'Finchley' (whom you may recall featured on GTV when we were in Grace Family Church, Liverpool). On the 23 March, Hartlepool had the joy of hosting 'The Austin Francis Connection' and 'Crossbeam' while Ayrshire had the remaining two bands with them at Cornerstone Church on 30th March.
Now on 13 April it is the GTV Ultimate Showcase Special, where a panel of three judges including Mike Deal, from Broeknrule Records, will collate all the votes and declare the best band. The winning band will be signed up for a recording deal with Broeknrule Records and will of course be the first act up at the Ultimate Event at Alton Towers on the 5 May 2007.
Huge news for GOD TV's teen viewers is that our flagship youth show, GTV hosted by Emma Owen, ChipK and Lindz West is taking another step up the ladder with one of its most extensive broadcasts in the UK to date.
